Join Edana Minghella for a Vocal Workshop at the Guildhall Winchester! Participants are invited to bring along a song they would like to work on. Please wear comfortable clothing that is easy to move in, plenty of water, and if possible, a yoga mat or something to lie on.

Recently celebrated as “one of the best vocal talents on today’s jazz scene”, Edana Minghella has been performing at festivals and jazz clubs in the UK and Europe since 2007. With a voice described as “beautiful and distinctive”, her life experience shines through her performances: "Minghella's voice has acquired a depth and gravitas that only experience could bring." (London Jazz News).

Her second album, All or Nothing, a collection of songs from Billie Holiday’s repertoire, was released to wide acclaim in 2016. Described as “fantastic from start to end” by Alan Musson of Jazz Breakfast, this and her debut album, Still on My Feet (2011) were both co-produced by the stellar duo Liane Carroll and award-winning music producer James McMillan. Her live shows showcase her great strengths: raw emotion, a natural story-telling ability, and the power to touch her audience deeply.

Edana is also a qualified teacher of adults and experienced workshop facilitator. She has the natural gift of being able to support and encourage singers of all abilities to find the joy in their own work. Her workshop will be tailored to the needs and wishes of participants, but is likely to focus on preparing for performance (including building confidence), breathing, and using the whole body in song. Edana will be joined by pianist Andy Daniels.
