Although our festival runs officially from Thursday 20th - Sunday 23rd September, we have events all throughout this week! Yesterday the Directors held the first event for Winchester Jazz Festival 2018 - a jazz vocals workshop for ENCORE Youth Theatre.

The cast of ENCORE’s next show, Return To The Forbidden Planet, have a lot of harmonies to tackle throughout the show. The Directors ran a workshop to cement the cast’s knowledge of harmonies and get them singing some jazz standards.

The workshop was held at Winchester’s newest venue, The Nutshell. The Nutshell is a Centre for the Arts and is a fantastic space for the artistic community of Winchester. You can support The Nutshell via their Crowdfunder by clicking here.

As always, we were incredibly impressed with the talent of the 48 ENCORE members. We were in ENCORE ourselves and know how much hard work it takes to put on a show. Thanks to everyone at ENCORE for making us feel so welcome, and for throwing themselves into the workshop!
