WJF brings you their yearly Jazz Jam; this year we’re delighted to be taking over The Railway Inn! Join us either on stage or in the audience for a night of live music. Our house band will be there to kick the night off and keep the music flowing. Drums, keyboard, bass and mics provided. Bring your instruments and voices to take part or sit back and enjoy with a drink or two.

Piano: Steve Christie

Drums: Joe Pickering

Bass: Renes Bbwi

About The Band

Formerly trained in composition at Southampton University, and with a natural flair for making up songs and instrumentals from an early age, Steve Christie has written for stage and screen. As well as writing for The Spitfire Sisters, he also composes for The Goose and Crow, and Prufrock feat. Dolly Dolly. Steve runs Vintage Keys Studio in the New Forest, specialising in authentic classic keyboard and recording techniques.

Joe Pickering is a professional percussionist who works across a wide variety of domains, incorporating many percussion instruments and styles. Primarily a kit player when he first started playing, Joe has since extended his repertoire to include a myriad of different instruments and he’s honed his skills in environments ranging from orchestral work to studio playing to festivals and to theatres.

Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Renes Bbwi is a musician who specialises in various genres from Jazz to Haitian Konpa. Renes has released his work and you can find it on Spotify and other music platforms.
