Winchester Jazz Festival present a Vocal Masterclass with Katie Crooks!
Attendees are invited to bring along a prepared song to focus on within this workshop. Participants will be given constructive advice on all elements of technique, style and performance, within a supportive and friendly environment.
Please note, this masterclass is suitable for attendees with some previous singing experience, aged 16+.
About Katie Crooks:
Katie graduated from Exeter University in 2003 with a degree in Music. She went on to train in Musical Theatre at Guildford School of Acting in 2006 and worked as an actor, singer and singing teacher before returning to GSA in 2013 to train as a voice and singing practitioner; achieving her 2nd masters degree and the MA prize for excellence.
Katie now works as a freelance voice, speech, accent and singing coach for numerous professional theatre companies and drama schools including GSA, Laine Theatre Arts Hurtwood House and YMT.
She also coaches voice and presentation in the corporate world and teaches both spoken voice and singing privately (www.ukvoicecoach.com). She continues to work as a jazz singer with numbers bands including The Somethin’ Else Big Band, she runs her own group ‘Katie’s Crooked Swing Band’, is a regular Lindy Hop dancer, and is an Associate Artist with Lynchpin and Artifice Theatre Company.
